We often shy away from our deepest, most vulnerable parts—the protectors, exiles, self-energy and the shadow that hold our past pain. It’s easy to ignore them, but doing so only keeps the struggle going.

Some parts of ourselves can feel overwhelming or even impossible to face, and it’s natural to fall into patterns of avoidance. But what if facing them is exactly what you or your clients need to move forward?

We’ve all faced moments when it feels impossible to confront the parts of ourselves or our clients that hold the deepest emotions and past wounds. These hidden or unknown layers often seem too overwhelming to approach, leaving us unsure of where to start.
Healing starts when we face these parts. It’s not about fixing or changing these parts, but about taking the time to understand and work through what’s been hidden, accepting and integrating all of who we are.
Expressive arts give us a powerful way to connect with and express what’s hard to put into words. By creating and exploring art we can begin to uncover and heal what’s been hidden.

A Powerful Tool for Exploring Inner Worlds—Yours and Your Clients
A Powerful Tool for Exploring Inner Worlds—Yours and Your Clients
This Inner Compass Deck combines the wisdom the Enneagram, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Jungian therapeutic methods to help you explore your inner world (or support your clients in theirs) and invite healing.
This 68-page booklet is your essential guide to navigating the Inner Compass Card Deck. Unlike other card decks, it offers exclusive resources that elevate your experience. Whether you're using the deck for your own healing journey or in support of others, this booklet provides everything you need to make the most out of each card.
Work through the lens of the Enneagram to understand inner parts with the help of these cards.
Connect with protectors, exiles, Self-energy and the shadow to guide others in gently exploring and integrating what they’ve been avoiding.
Use the cards for art journaling, self-reflection, and creative expression to foster healing whether for personal growth or as a tool in your therapeutic practice.
Before diving into the deck, begin by exploring the companion booklet included with your cards. It offers clear, step-by-step guidance on how to use the deck through the lens of both the Enneagram and the Internal Family Systems (IFS) framework.
Identify your Enneagram types and draw the cards that represent the different parts of this type—protector, exile, shadow, and self-energy. Observe how these parts interact and explore the messages each part might have for the others.
Choose a card and imagine it as the part it represents, such a protector or quality of self. Take a moment to check in with how it feels and what it may want to communicate. Create a spread to explore this part more deeply and gain further insight.
Reflect on the Enneagram type that you relate to least of all the types. What qualities or energy might be needed from this part? Create a spread to invite more of this energy into your life or the lives of those you support. This exercise is an introduction to your shadow type.

Healing begins when we actively engage with our inner world. It’s time to stop avoiding difficult emotions and past experiences that hold us back. No one should have to wait or continue suffering from past pain. Everyone deserves to uncover those hidden layers and begin their healing journey.
I had been leaving the neglected parts of me out for a long time. I appreciate your holistic approach to this work. I’ve been able to invite back the rejected, shadow parts of myself with love.
